How Dan Beta learns
Your beta helps every climber send harder.
Every clip shows the AI something new: a wall it has not seen, a body it reads wrong, a move it misses. Here is what it gets wrong, what Dan does about it, and what your clips fixed so far.

What the AI gets wrong today
Straight up: it is not Dan yet. These are the mistakes we see most.
It picks the spotter.It can follow the person on the mat instead of the person on the wall. A spotter with arms up and still can still fool it.
It calls a send a fall.It can read the end of a send, when you let go and drop, as a fall.
It misses the heel hook.When you film from behind, it cannot see your heel on the hold, so it cannot tell you to use it.

What Dan does with a clip
Dan and the team check some clips and their AI reviews. Not every clip, and not in real time. A review says "Checked by Dan" only when Dan checked it.
- He grades the reviewWould he have said this? Yes, partly, or no.
- He fixes the wordsHe rewrites a line, or the one change, where the AI got it wrong.
- He says what he would have saidHis own call on the clip becomes the answer the AI has to match.

What "learning" means
Two parts of Dan Beta learn from clips. Nothing trains on climbers' clips today. Learning from free reviews starts with the next app update, after the app shows you the new notice.
- The readerIt watches the clip and finds your body, the holds and the wall. It learns from clips and the body tracks in them: more walls, more angles, more climbers.
- The writerIt writes the review. It learns Dan's calls from his grades and fixes: what to say, and what to leave out.

What we promise
- No sound, no locationWe remove both from every clip before the AI reads it.
- Faces blurred Coming with the next app updateWe blur the faces before we learn from any clip.
- Never public without a separate yesWe never show your clip in public without asking you about that clip.
- "Not this clip" Coming with the next app updateTap it on any clip to keep that clip out of training.
- Off any time Coming with the next app updateYou → "Keep my clips out of training". Until paid Dans exist, this is free. Paid Dans never need it.
- Delete any timeA review or your whole account, in the app or by email.
- Kids stay outOnce we know a clip shows a child, we never use it for training.
Turning it off stops future use. It does not undo what a model already learned.

05 · The log
What your clips fixed
Each time a clip shows us a mistake and we fix it, it goes here. Newest first.
- Location data is removed from every clip.A test clip still carried the place it was filmed. Now every clip, voice file and shared clip leaves without location, date or device tags.
- Dan Beta no longer draws on a spectator when it cannot find you.One clip showed the app following a seated spectator. Now it checks for a climber first. When it cannot tell which person is you, the review draws nothing and says so, and that review does not use a Dan.
- Your fall tap now points Dan at the right seconds.On a clip where the app found no hand or foot on a hold, Dan looked at the wrong part. Now the spot you tap as your fall sets where he looks.
